![]() ![]() The issue isn't that there are games for the Wii anymore, but that their aren't GOOD games for the Wii anymore. They capitalised.Īlso please point out any spelling mistakes as I am using the Wii broswer. Once they saw another highly profitable market potential for their system they did what any smart business would do. ![]() We all know Nintendo loves new and exciting ideas, from Mario games to the Game Boy, they've always been about inovation. Remember the Wii before the DS success on the casual market? Sleek, black and called the 'Revolution'. Nintendo knew that if they didn't want to become I Sega they'd have to look for another audience and have Inovation. One of the reasons behind PS2 success was the interest from the casual market with a DVD player and games like GTA. They needed more profit after the GC failure. And if we continue with a Gamecube 2 the same thing will happen.' The gamers alone weren't helping them. Now Nintendo are thinking: 'What did we do wrong? We produced many excellent 1st party titles yet we still lost out. Another was that a lot of Nintendo's market had gone to the 'Playstation generation' and no longer needed to buy a Nintendo console because of a lack of games. Most of the 3rd party's had fled to the PS2 after the PSone's success. One of the reasons why is because of the lack of 3rd party surport. This wasn't because inferior hardware as the GC was as powerful as the Xbox and had a version with a built in music and DVD player. The Nintendo Gamecube came last in the last gen console wars, like its predecessor N64, while Sony sold 100 million PS2's. Nintendo: Screw the gamers, we have money! (Laughs)īut Nintendo is a business. ![]() Nintendo fan: Why wasn't there any proper games but only casual games at this years E3? What about stuff like Carnival Games, Game Party, Deca Sports, Big Beach Sports, Mario and Sonic? Anything else? They all seem fairly cheap, apart from Mario and Sonic, so even if they contain only a couple of fun games I might still get them.I hear a lot about how Nintendo have turned there back on gamers and gone casual but people fail to look at Nintendo's point of view everyone thinks this: I don't like the format of Mario Party and I always found the mini games to require a bit of gamer nous to win, but I haven't tried the Wii version. I have Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, which might be ok, the minigames aren't as fun as the original but it's better set up for multiplayer. Warioware doesn't pass the intuitive controls test. ![]() Probably the best "broadly accessible" game on the system. Considering Wii Sports as the benchmark, what else out there would do a similar job? By similar I mean accessible enough for someone that rarely plays games, which means intuitive controls and not relying on fast reactions. I know my dear old mother will enjoy Wii Sports, but what else is there out there? There are a whole lot of new ones on the market and I haven't really kept up with them all. I'm looking for some games that would be fun to play at a family gathering. The Gamespot review of Big Beach Sports says "you'll soon get bored if you're playing alone." Can you imagine Gamespot reviewing Twister? These games are not meant to be played alone. ![]()
